AniSetu is built on a foundation of open data, provider-neutral architecture, and strict licensing compliance. We do not scrape private websites or violate external terms of service. Below is the full disclosure of all external data sources contributing to our catalog.
Anime catalog bootstrap snapshot and historical identifier mapping (MAL, AniList, Kitsu, AniDB) derived from the archived Manami Project dataset.
License Notice: Made available under the Open Database License (ODbL) 1.0 and Database Contents License (DbCL) 1.0.
Source RepositoryMultilingual title labels (Japanese, Romaji, English, Hindi), creator entities, studio relationships, and authoritative Wikidata Q-IDs.
License Notice: Released under the Creative Commons CC0 1.0 Universal Public Domain Dedication.
Wikidata PortalUsed strictly in local development environments behind an explicit feature flag for parser debugging and contract tests. Blocked from production ingestion.
Attribution: Data referenced in test fixtures sourced from MyAnimeList via Jikan API.
Jikan DocumentationCompiled behind our provider adapter contract but permanently blocked at runtime due to AniList Terms of Service restricting competing tracker/watchlist platforms and data backups.
Status: Zero AniList data is ingested or stored in the production catalog.
AniList Terms of UseUser reviews, episode tracking milestones, personal watchlists, and community scores are generated directly by AniSetu registered members. Personal user data is strictly segregated from open catalog tables and is protected under the AniSetu Privacy Policy.
